honeywell 3-way motorised valve

I have just replaced the motorised valve because it was stuck in the mid-way position and I have the following problems.

1. The valve ticks when hot water switched on a the controller
2. The hot water is just like warm even thought the pipe from the valve to the hot water cylinder gets hot.

What is wrong?

hi did you change the whole valve or just the head?

I Changed the whole thing.

I found the cause of the ticking. The hot water thermostat was not held tightly against the hot water cylinder. The strap had worked its way loose. I tightened the strap and now things are working perfectly.
