Hello, I currently have a Worcester Combi Boiler with a wireless Honeywell thermostat and BDR91 receiver. I am replacing this with a Hive Smart Thermostat. Just want to double check the wiring before I make the swap. Ive attached a photo of the current wiring into the BDR91.

Thanks in advance
Martin

You should have the single channel version of the Hive.

The blue wire goes to N as it does now
The brown wire goes to L as it does now
The black wire in A goes to the Hive Com (1)
The grey wire in B goes to the Hive heating on (3)

Thanks for that Stem. Seems simple enough. I appreciate your help. As an enthusiastic DIYer I read these forums a lot but this is the first time I've posted. Ta

Hi both. I have a similar set-up - Baxi Duo Tec combi - and am going to swap the Honeywell with my old Hive tomorrow. However, the colours on my Honeywell receiver look different to yours. Is the advice from @stem still valid?

Thanks a lot

Will

There is no standard wiring colour scheme. The colours of the wires would have been chosen by the original installer based on their personal preferences and the cables they had available. One installer may use a brown wire for a certain function, another grey and another black all for the same function. The wires don't know what colour they are, it is what is connected to each end of the wire that matters. So in your case:

The blue wire in N goes to Hive N
The brown wire in L(1) goes to Hive L
The brown loop wire in L(2) goes to Hive L
The brown loop wire in A goes to the Hive Com (1)
The black wire in B goes to the Hive heating on (3)

Hi. I would like to change my BDR91 to a Hive receiver as well. My boiler is a Vaillant Ecotec 837. In my BDR91, there is also a feed from a fused switch. Is it as simple as putting the two blues currently in N into Hive N and the black currently in L1 into Hive L, then following your instructions to the last poster? Thanks

you need to start your own post, it is against site rules to Hijack others posts as it just gets too confusing this is now 3 separate posts within one

Guys, can you help me? I've wired it up as instructed but it only fires when the hot water button is pressed rather than the heating button
