Stupid people set sail across the Atlantic in poorly kitted out yachts and drown on a regular basis and it hardly makes the news.

Same for people climbing mountains or cave diving

This is only news worthy because it’s billionaires and the titanic.

Not sure I agree with that. I think it's perhaps more to do with the fact incidents with subs are few and far between, coupled with where they were diving and the reports now coming out re vessel not being fit for purpose.

Yes but this was a one off event, last mini sub event I remember was the two Rogers, Mallinson & Chapman, I used to play tennis with RC, a real gent & philanthropist
