I swerved to avoid a vehicle on the M602, before it joins the M62, to avoid a vehicle pulling right, across my path, so the advice is to point the vehicle to where the vehicle you are about to hit isn't. So hit a rubber bollard.
The crash destroyed my wheel, where it contacted the kerb, and just bounced off the bollard, (you know the ones, big yellow things, with an arrow pointing down and left?), must have hit it at less than 15mph, but apparently it smashed my gearbox, and the box needed recasing, which took 9 months to do. And the dealer couldn't do this, and farmed the work out. Apart from a damaged wheel, no superficial damage could be seen, and I used the van for the rest of the day. But such a low speed impact smashing the gearbox? So yeah, running over a fox at 70..definately damage.
