Never used one, what are the advatages/properties of using hot melt glue vs araldite/pva/grippy/silicone/contact etc.
Lidls have one for about £7 at the moment was wondering if worth a punt?
They have their uses...consider the glue sticks to be nothing more than solid polythene until they are melted, and they then turn back to their original state. They are good for gap filling, and have their place when gluing thermoplastic plastics.
The shear and tensile strength is hopeless in most applications.

a tipical example what i use mine for
in the screw tins you have the different coloured boxes
well i use loads off single [orange] and double [yellow] boxes blues and reds are too big so what i do is sub divide say a blue box down the middle using a blue box cut into sections or perspex offcuts
then either side off the centre partition i will sub divide into for example 2x3 sections for no7s 1/2 5/8 3/4 1 1 1/4 1 1/2
so all no7s together
this way a big case can have over 60 screw sizes with most boxes sub divided
now the sections are never fully emptied but when you hold by the handle the screws will sit on the subdivisions and as yet [4 or 5 years] only 2 have needed redoing
ive got one, certainly for that price worth having. Mind does wood glue as well, which is useful for things like the backboards of flatpacks etc. Dont use it that often.
got a feeling ryobi may make one big-all..........
