Hi
My wifes salon has a hot water cylinder in the staff room, presumably unvented as seems to be supplied from cold mains. There is no gas supply to the shop and no central heating, so everything is electric. Just recently we have noticed that the cylinder makes a noise when heating up so no sure if its on its last legs maybe? Ive not had a proper look myself, but if it is due for replacement is this something I could do myself if its a like for like? Also, I was thinking, is there a way of doing away with the hideous tank and just have some sort of wall mounted water heater or would this maybe not cope & cost me more in electric?
Thanks

Unvented cylinders must be installed, serviced and maintained by G3 qualified engineers, if you have this then yes you can do it, otherwise that’s who you need.

Okay thanks. Im just assuming the worst here, but is there any other reason it could be making a noise or is it maybe normal? Not entirely sure how long its been doing it, I just happened to notice the other day
