hot water going up cold feed into cwsc

water in cwsc is clean not dirty
if you say only when called for as in switching the hw on to heat up then the coil has gone in the cylinder passing water from f/e to cws.

check if the f/e ball valve is running when the cws is filling

so this happens with both mixers or just one of them when opened on both hot and cold?

has this only started happening?

you could possibly fit a check valve in your supply pipes to the mixer(s) but then again ideally you should have balanced supplies at taps/mixers.

the cwsc overflows when hot water is turn on, the hot water in both basin mixer and bath mixer is rubbish, the cold from the rising main is strong in both

must be an older mixer tap that mizes water in the body, which is illegal now i believe without a check valve on both hot and cold pipes??

unless the mixer is faulty and passing, and as the cold mains ispowerful, is forcing the hot back up to the h/w cylinder and the cwsc and out via the overflow.

james i will fit check valves to both hot&cold to both basin and bath the mixer taps on both are brand spanking new, faulty?

they must be the type that mix the water in the body.

fit check valves but when both hot and cold are on together you may get more cold than hot! may be ok though.

other than that it's new taps that mix at the end of the spout.

fair enough. good to know. i just thought that all taps fed from a cold water tank now had to have potable water at cold side due to regs!!

bath, basin can still be run off the tank.at least one
kitchen useally must be off the mains potable water for drinking.
