Hi all,

We have an OSO Direct 20 RD Unvented water heater that heats just the water (seperate electric radiators) and the water pressure from the hot taps and shower is really poor.

Does anyone know if this is likely due to an issue with this water heater or what the best way to rectify this is? Can we add a water pump to the heater to increase the pressure? And if so, which pump would you recommend? (This is a small one bed Annexe if that makes a difference - 1 kitchen hot tap, 1 bathroom hot tap and shower)

I've added a picture in case that helps. Any advice much appreciated!

Thanks!

Are your cold tapsok ? If so probably a issue with the inlet valve, get a engineer with unvented qualification

Yes sorry should have said, pressure from the cold taps is fine.

No don’t fit a pump just get it fixed by a G3 registered engineer as above. I don’t think that flexi is allowed, think it has to be rigid, could be wrong though.

Ok thank you for your advice.

I just found this thread, do you think it’s worth trying this first? Any harm in doing so?

Do you have water discharge at the tundish? Seems like that’s all it’s for. Ive checked and the mi’s state that flexi comes with it, so is allowed.

Thank you for checking.

I think there is a slow drip around the tundish. To be fair I twisted this blue knob and that made water come out of the tundish so not sure if it always dripped or that’s because of me?!

Yes, if you twist that (safety relief valve/pressure relief valve) then water will come out of it.

Thanks for your replies, I following the steps on the thread I linked above and the bathroom hot tap and shower had a big improvement. Kitchen tap was still useless, checked the hot feed isolation valve for the tap was fully open and it was, unscrewed the end of the tap and there was loads of limescale and grit had come through, cleaned that out and it’s also much better. Thanks for your help, really pleased!

Hmm my win feels somewhat short lived as the pressure has dropped again today, it's better than it was before I did anything but not has good as it was straight after I'd topped it up. Does indicate anything? Think I'll be looking for G3 registered Engineer, can anyone recommend one in Oxfordshire? Thanks!
