Having seen them ( and used them ) in both homes and canteens I do whole heartedly agree with Eric.So personally I would say not suitable for home use. They are for canteens at work not for home.
Friends had one fitted as a "must have" in the new kitchen. It was switched off one day for safety when children visited and was never switched back on.
In one of my client's the managment replaced the "dangerous" kettles in the staff rest areas with hot taps. It is said the cost was recovered from the shorter time staff spent "resting" while the kettle boiled.
I imagine a leaky tap washer would do a lot of damage once the drip tray over flowed.
