Hi, my Hotpoint integrated dishwasher LTB4B019 has suddenly stopped working. I’ve checked the plug fuse, and the socket and both fine. Nothing lights up when I press any of the buttons.

I can undo it from the cabinet and pull it out but not sure if there’s much i could tackle. It’s not that expensive a machine, and came “free” with the kitchen. Googling around suggests the control panel but that this could cost £200 upwards.

Does anyone have any ideas on what’s wrong or what to check, or secondly is it likely to be a cost effective repair if I get an engineer out? I remember years ago a washing machine engineer saying to me he wouldn’t come out as he suspected a control panel fault and said it simply wasn’t worth his travel time and parts price to make it acceptable to me, his customer. He’d rather i told my friends he was honest than I told them he charged more than it was worth.

I’m not an engineer but competent enough to dismantle something and swap a plu out and in component. Above that happy to pay for an engineer as it seems wasteful to admit defeat and just buy a new one.

Unplug the dishwasher for a day and see what happens. If not, then chances could be the main board (including power supply) that's gone bad. You can dismantle the machine and check for visual damage at the PCB.
