Something that Boris Johnson said which was plastic recycling isn’t the answer, reducing plastic use has to happen - when he said this he was criticised

I'm in Fife. The following are accepted across various recycling centres (i.e. not all accept all if that makes sense.)

The big question is how much is actually recycled ?
Our council has a single bin recycling collection system taking all types of recyclable items...

A neighboring council has multiple recycling bins which people are supposed to separate certain types of recyclable materials...

They all go to the same processing plant...

Go figure!
 
We have bins for

Non recyclable
Garden and food
Plastics, tins and glass
Paper and card

They are collected in various combinations each week.

If we had one bin for all, it would be chaotic and it would be overflowing before the week was out.
