Going to use hammer fixings to build a sound barrier on a party wall in a semi which will be topped off with sound panels. Will be mounting a TV on it. How deep should the wood batten fixings go into the wall ? I am thinking about 2 inches should cut it but not sure. Am also thinking of using some grab adhesive in the fixing holes but perhaps abit OTT ? Last thing I want is the wall to fall off. Substrate is block.

are you sure hammer fixings are a good solution for a sound barrier -the fixings conduct the low frequency vibrations

The battens do need to be secured somehow ? Do you have an recommendations ? There will be a 20mm gap between the two walls, with rockwool insulation and boarded over with sound panels.

What is the proposed wall make-up from the face of the existing blockwork outwards?
38mm depth studs, 450mm apart, 10mm gap between the studwork and wall using rubber spacers. Filled with 50mm rockwool and boarded over with soundpanel.
