How do we save NHS?

American levels of taxation + welfare state expectations = total ****

We are getting exactly what we pay for, a second rate service

Put your hands in your pocket and pay for it like they do in France, Germany, Sweden and all the other countries with good state systems. It's not rocket science, it's called "Income Tax"

agreed, the NHS was setup to allow medical care for all but mainly for those unable to afford, those that can should pay.
not very labourite views? more the tory way of thinking? just the same as before it's just the goal posts have moved and more people are affluent and have moved themselves out of the poor bracket and therefore shouldn't complain about having to pay, those that do are only concerned with themselves and not caring about others in need.

Not exactly new labour but exactly what the people of this country should be thinking, like I said, we are a rich enough country to be able to afford an excellent NHS that caters for everybody, So why oh why does every politician that gets their hands on it try to destroy it?
We all need the NHS, some more than others, why cant we improve it in the 21st century? why does the NHS have to be cut back all the time? time to tell my MP I think
