I'm a very liberal minded person, each to their own and all that as long as no laws are broken.

But surely when it comes to equality for genders, that should mean each gender is respected in equal measure, no? In short, to be male is still valid, no? To be female is still valid, no? And to be male or female can surely still be promoted as a positive thing, no?

Or is EVERYTHING in life now to be 100% vanilla to ensure no offence anywhere?

If you agree with me, and assuming the reporting is an accurate reflection of events, why is this fair?

Because the shouty lunatics have taken over the asylum

and JK Rowling upset the fruit cake mob

Pretty much as transam said.

Women's rights are being eroded, fortunately few people want to be men, however there is an awful lot of people who want to be woman, in a way it's flattering but now they have gone too far and trans rights appear to trump those of females.

Unfortunately trans people appear to be severely unhinged and use the influence of social media to their advantage. Unfortunately social media appears to be that which business and government make their decisions on, they believe this to be the oracle, but in reality this only reflects minority views who can be bothered to spend their time making their points heard.

Most ordinary folk just use it to keep in touch with friends and family and post pictures of their kids or meals they're eating...

Home Secretary says that men are not women

Well that's a bit of a shock.

This follows cases where violent and sexual offences by men who call themselves female were recorded as being committed by women, prompting concerns that the practice is warping official data.

"In law, only a male can commit rape, but analysis by Professor Alice Sullivan of University College London shows that between 2012 and 2018, a total of 436 people prosecuted for rape were recorded as women."

She'll be saying next that sex offenders with a penis shouldn't be put into women's prisons.

Talking about this in the pub a few days ago.
It appears that one person can identify at the same time as a heterosexual man, a heterosexual woman, a gay man, a lesbian and anything in between.
That would make this person untouchable at work as they would all be scared to say something wrong to one of the identities :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
What a lot of boll@x!

Stonewall has persuaded people to say that people can change sex at will. Even though they know it's not true.

They can't.

Sex is real.

They can change what is today fashionably called "Gender" which is now considered to be a "feeling" (or a "whim" as some might put it) not a fact.

There are men who act offended because they self identify as "lesbians" and find that (real) lesbians don't want to have sex with them. Because they are not attracted to men, or "lesbians" with a cock and balls. Another male fantasy ruined by contact with reality.

Any lesbian who doesn't want to have sex with a man self-identifying as a lesbian is a transphobe, eh?

Plenty of people are phobic towards men, women and all the variants. Entirely rational, surely?o_O

Trans also have the hump because straight men don't want to sleep with them either...

I once had a customer where I used to work who what seemed out of the blue decide he was going to have a sex change and started dressing as a female. I knew him for 7 years and had girlfriends, he was on autistic spectrum (one of them autistics that look normal, that's probably not pc to say) but a good mechanic and a thoroughly nice chap.

I asked him why after all this time he wanted to become a woman and said I had no idea he was gay.

He paused looked at me confused and said, I'm not gay, I want to become a lesbian.....

I was stunned,

I genuinely couldn't see the point .... Surely you might aswell just stay a bloke???

Trans person I worked with stayed married to his wife. I noticed on a recent BA flight the normal “good morning ladies and gentlemen “ had been dropped for “good morning everyone “

This is just a phoney culture war, pushed by the Daily Mail.

it’s quite simple: “lets get the public angry about something trivial (because then they won’t think about the massive Brexit damage we imposed on this country)”

.

Is that you John D or has someone hijacked your account? It's just that I can't remember you ever saying anything sensible and non-politically correct before!

You are correct, it is a phoney culture war but it's not just the Daily Mail; all the mainstream media are on board with it. People wouldn't be concerned with nonsense like, for examples, changing sex, promoting black lives matter or suffering eating disorders if they hadn't heard about such things in the media. And it started long before Brexit!
