How is this happening in this county

Unless, of course, younger people's votes started to outweigh older people's.
Except that most "younger people" have been brainwashed into thinking that the world only exists in their smart phones and have absolutely no idea what is going on in the real world. Young people voting? That will be the day. Bit like some of the posters on this forum and even in this thread.

Not sure who'll be the benefactor of these houses but say the cost is £4hundred grand a home, that's a bit of money to find. Then where do the people you've displaced go.

Come on Notch. We can see it with our own eyes. Extra millions in UK population, mainly pennyless, sponging third worlders. I can see it happening not far from me on a council estate that was almost 100% local white Bristolian. Amid a housing crisis where private rents are unaffordable and local people can't even get on the council list - our trecherous politicians are giving housing to third worlders as quickly as they can. It's a bit obvious when suddenly you are seeing big numbers of brown faces.

Strangely all the homeless panhandlers in these parts are white.
Shame working full time doesn't pay enough to afford a mortgage. That's the issue, standard of living.

What also went was all the trades and apprenticeships that worked for the council on those houses.
Wasn't that because of the complaints about the unions insisting trades worked on their own trade and the government's wanted more flexibility.

Can't have it both ways

Multi skilling. The guy in charge at Slough Council desperately wanted to keep the maintenance in house and warned the workers that by not modernising their approach they would vote themselves out of as job, which they did.
A broken window could involve a glazier replacing the glass, a locksmith to change the handle and lastly a painter to touch it up.

It started with Thatcher and went down hill thereafter. Also, not solely blaming immigration ...... but it certainly doesn't help

And if you want that multi skilling, you can't then complain about not having skilled trades and apprentices from those employers.

As I said, you can't have it both ways

I always found it ironic that governments would do what they could to break up demarcation lines to supposedly increase productivity. (Bonus schemes would be another way) Then along comes health and safety knocking all that into a cocked
hat.

It's been going wrong since at least the 70's and I've never heard of workable solutions.
As a woman with kids she gets SOME accommodation. A bloke would be on the streets because he doesn't qualify for the same support.

745,000 sounds like too many for an immigraion figure, but if t's right, how in hell can we keep up with housing? If anyone has a reference--?? I expect there's one of those Fact Check podcasts on it.

271000 homeless last Jan. There was something on the radio a couple of weeks ago about the high number of cases of migrants bringing their dependents in, then splitting up producing needy people. Such dependents are not repatriated. There are hIgh rates of homelessness amongst the immigrant population. Immigration does seem to be a significant part of the problem,. We don't afford to treat them as we would like, because, in part, there are too many.
INfo like this https://www.gov.uk/government/stati...y-do-people-come-to-the-uk-for-family-reasons is out of date and updates are differently split.

We could build a whole new town just for one year's migrants. 745,000 would be quite a big town. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_in_the_United_Kingdom. Leeds. Five times Oxford.
There would be a big town, all immigrants of the cohort of '23. One for each year. There would be no problem there, would there?

It might not be woke to say it, but it appears to be true. Immigration at the current volume is causing us and the immigrants, problems, and needs to be reduced.
