It's been going wrong since at least the 70's and I've never heard of workable solutions.
As a woman with kids she gets SOME accommodation. A bloke would be on the streets because he doesn't qualify for the same support.
745,000 sounds like too many for an immigraion figure, but if t's right, how in hell can we keep up with housing? If anyone has a reference--?? I expect there's one of those Fact Check podcasts on it.
271000 homeless last Jan. There was something on the radio a couple of weeks ago about the high number of cases of migrants bringing their dependents in, then splitting up producing needy people. Such dependents are not repatriated. There are hIgh rates of homelessness amongst the immigrant population. Immigration does seem to be a significant part of the problem,. We don't afford to treat them as we would like, because, in part, there are too many.
INfo like this

We could build a whole new town just for one year's migrants. 745,000 would be quite a big town. See
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_in_the_United_Kingdom. Leeds. Five times Oxford.
There would be a big town, all immigrants of the cohort of '23. One for each year. There would be no problem there, would there?
It might not be woke to say it, but it appears to be true. Immigration at the current volume is causing us and the immigrants, problems, and needs to be reduced.
