No. That's Harry Enfield, who used to be a comedian and sketch writer.
Yep. The Loadsamoney character he portrayed, although Loadsamoney was a plasterer so lower down on the tradesman scale.

so lower down on the tradesman scale.

Not when plastering a 4m high ceiling

I happen to admire good plastering work as it's something I can't do to such a high standard. And, reassuringly, there are still plenty of people about who feel the same way about good plumbers and heating engineers.

Some here don't, but decline to explain their unhealthy interest in our field and the reason(s) for their stereotypical judgement.

The work a plasterer does can be seen, imperfections are obvious. Imperfect plumbing is mostly out of sight. So maybe the plasterer is higher in terms of skill and attention to detail in his or her work.

Plenty of plumbing is on show requiring skill and attention to detail.

Shockingly bad prep work by plasters can be hidden by a lovely smooth skim (which may fall off later from the poor work beneath...).

But does a plasterer need to be trained and qualified to work in your house or can any old self-taught chancer do it and is there a high likelihood of somebody getting injured or killed if they do something wrong? That’s why I’d rate RGI's higher and worth more on the pay scale.

I think Lemon_1 wants to become an RGI and is getting a feel for potential income (y)
