How to loosen or tighten new door handles

We have had new doors fitted and the fitter has not responded to our phone calls to make adjustments, so I need to know how to loosen or tighten these door handles please

What's wrong with them?

The circular cover piece of the handle that butts up against the door will unscrew to reveal the screws that secure the handle. If the cover doesn't unscrew it might prise off.

Then more likely they are not perfectly aligned with the hole in the latch. It's not a question of tightening or loosening.

If you take the handle off one side only, it will allow more play for the spindle to turn freely, and you can look to see if it is central and straight.

It's also possible the spindle is binding on the hole in the door, but this is less common because the mistake is so obvious during fitting.

You can also get latches with a stronger spring.
