They definitely say the cabins will grow as well as shrink, due to changing water levels in the logs. Seems the better you treat the timber, the less this happens but apparently the first year can be quite dramatic.
But all the shrinkage occurs at the edges of timber , where it’s fixed can’t move ( it’s fixed ) so securing baton at those points drastically reduce any risk of movement .
