How to plumb kitchen sink drain

Looks a total notch up.
Might not like what I say but stand back and look at it: the overflow could be trimmed; would have been a lot tidier with an elbow and piece of pipe instead of that flexy
Can visualise the trap backing up over time

I think have done the drain plumbing to acceptable standard, I use Mcapline T5M-A which gave around 40mm to trap height. However, had problem to pipe choice between the T5M-A and trap, 40mm standard drain pipe o/s 43mm fits in the T5M-A but too big for the trap, the pipe came with the trap too small for the T5M_A as it has what lips and won't fit inside. Luckily I had pipe left over which did the job, was tight fit to the trap.
I can leave it as it is but which pipe will fit there? I can probably use 40mm compression coupler, to accommodate the pipes I have.
Thanks
