I have an electric heater in my bathroom which I want to remove. I was wondering if someone here has installed or removed one of these before. It has no screws visible, it seems it is clipped on to a backing plate, and the backing plate is screwed to the wall. I have moved it up and down to unclip, but it seems there much me a trick to it? Any ideas?

Secondly, as I am removing the heater I want to remove its fused switch also. There is a spur going into an extraction fan from this switch. Would it be ok, to remove the switch and use a terminal block to connect the spurred wires and cover it with a blanking plate, so it’s accessible for inspection.

Why don't you just keep the heater? You don't have to use it though!

I have one just like it in my bathroom, really effective in drying my hair after that early morning shower, ready to go to work!

I wouldnt want anything like that in my bathroom.

The idea of mixing condensation and an electric heater is pretty nasty to me.

Physically removing is not a major issue, I'll yank it off if it comes to it. But wiring wise, would using a choc box be ok. I'm pretty sure its ok, but just want to double check.

It definatly looks like you have got 1.5mm tapped off the supply side of that FCU, it would be better to remove the heater,m leave the FCU in place(or swap it for an unswitched version), move the 1.5mm to the load side and change the fuse to 3A/5A
