how to start?

Hi! I have a huge amount of diy stuff located in a cupboard under a stair, and bikes in my kitchen! My husband would like to move it outside along the house, in a skinny space between our house and the neighbour's.

I would like to build a lean to. This would be in the space between my house and the neighbour's. WE ARE THINKING ABOUT BUILDING A WALL BETWEEN THE TWO PROPERTIES< INSTEAD OF THE FENCE> Putting windows above the wall, and a transparent roof (glass?). This is because there are 2 windows in my house facing the fence (toilet, and kitchen) these would be on the long side of the lean to (facing the wall). + At one end the lean to would be against another window (spare room) - on the small side of the L shape of the house. The entrance would have to be on the other small side. To complicate things, there are many gutters coming down, the boiler is in the kitchen and the vent comes out where the lean to is supposed to go. There is also an outside sink (and an electric point) that we want to keep. I don't know where to start, where can I find information for a hybrid between a conservatory and a lean/to?

A friend/builder who is holidaying here, suggested making the lean to half the size we wanted, to avoid the sink and making it fit above the windows, but I would be very small then.

There's no such thing as hybrid between conservatory and lean-to. In fact their usage is the only real thing that seperates them.

Do you require a conservatory or external covered storage area? There's no real need for a wall if the fence is sturdy, polycarb roofing will give you the light you need without adding any windows.

I take it the space between houses is used for access? Think twice about losing this if the garden/rear of property cannot be got at by the back garden.

The boiler flue cannot vent into or be piped through the lean to, not a diy job anyway, you should contact a gas safe boiler engineer to carry out this work.
