I've just fitted my new HRM wallstar through the wall and the outside doesn't look right to me. The outside cabinet door lifts off. It is held by 4 screws in L shaped slots so you loosen lift it up then forward. Around the flue is a metal plate that slides in the door to allow you to do this. The clearance between the metal plate and the flue is at least 3mm. So there is a small crescent shaped gap where rain could get in to the burner area.

Are they all like this? I wonder if the wrong metal plate has been fitted say for the higher output models, if they have a larger flue.

There is bulge in the flue, that is a V shape in cross section. Flue diameter increases by say 6mm. If this was flush with the metal plate and then it would fill the gap. However the bulge is about 6mm away from the plate so it doesn't.

The gap is normal.

Don't understand your description of the bulge in the flue, where is the bulge? Does it point up, down , sideways? Any chance of a picture?

the cases all have different dimensions, so your cover is correct, else it would not fit.

The bulge is in the flue diameter so in ascii art

The bulge I think is to retain the grill which is different on the 12/15 (not like the pictures on HRM site).

I realise that the doors are all different as the size of hole in the wall is different for the different models. However the sliding metal plate could be similar on all, but perhaps with a larger hole for the flue. Hence that could be wrong even if the door was right.

I guess you just get a bit of rain in a times. The internals all look to be waterproof so it shouldn't matter. Also I've set the case so the oil pipe slot is the lowest point. Any water (or oil) so thus drain away to the outside.

A good move, lots are put in with the case sloping inwards.
