why is it that people will bid over the top on a well known auction site for something they can go and buy in a well known catalogue shop for less?

I am refering to the dr who cyberman head,

average auction site price £26.00 + £9.00 shipping=£35.00

catalogue shop price £29.99

I know what you mean breezer - it's barmy. I bought a pc game from an online store a few years back for about £15. I didn't like it so I put it on Ebay and it sold for about £32. I think people just get carried away near the end time and don't realise what they're doing.
