The last time I was really, really drunk, about 3 years ago now, I started off in that pub. How I got home (to York at the time) is an eternal mystery........

I lent you the train fare. You still owe me 50 quid!

For all I know you could well have done, though found no evidence I had paid any fare at all. I wasn't even planning to go home, but just turned up at around midnight. Last thing I remember was trying to get down to the underground by one of those stairwells they have coming up to street level with railings around around three sides, first of all missing to the right, then to the left, and then walking down to the sound of the braying laughter of those London Toffs behind me as I finally found the stairs.

Still had a wallet with money in, my laptop, and dry trousers in the morning. 'Tis indeed a miracle.

You may want to ask Canon Jeffery John, I believe he used to drink in there.

sorry but you cant have a 'pint' anymore. you have to ask for a '566ml'

Except north of Watford where they pay for a pint but are given 484ml plus some air.

that website is wrong. godknows what crooked formula they have programmed that menu with.
