Off topic this, but I was in a private members club a couple of weeks ago where Tetley bitter was £1-40 and Carlsberg £1-50 a pint. being quite a new building it was no dump either.

Anyone seen it cheaper than that?

sorry but you cant have a 'pint' anymore. you have to ask for a '566ml'
Is that supposed to be funny, witty, or a snide comment too cretinous for even the Daily Mail to use?

The "Goose at the Bank" in Grantham, Carlsberg £1.35, bitter (don't remember which) £1.25. But "Goose" is a horrible chain of pubs, like Wetherspoons only worse. I imagine other Goose pubs in the area are the same prices if you can put up with the lack of atmosphere, service and so on.

Agreed  There's never enough staff! And theres always some clever glass collector carrying around a stack of about 100 glasses in one hand.

Sam Smith's pubs sell their stuff very cheap, even one that is right in the middle of that London. Seem to remember about 1.20 a pint a few years ago.

Downsides - 1) Sam Smith's Bitter is not to everyone's taste. 2) Ayingerbrau Pils is their lager drink of choice and never has a good effect....

If you can wait until 6:00 am, try the Market Porter, Borough Market, Southwark, London SE1

The Railway on Angel (lane) Road Strattford
