I have a question about the 17th ed exam

With the 17th edn regs one done on the computer it tells you the % you got correct on a printout at the end of the exam.
There is a bar graph with the sections on it which shows you the % of each section you got correct.

I was told when I took mine it was about 85%.
So was I when I took the 16th.

Ever since everyone has said it's 60%.

They don't tell you the percentage you get, though.
Nor which questions you got wrong, which, I think, is really stupid.
As stated above was informed 85% pass mark on 17th eds.
As Spark123, states received a print out of the sections and % mark.
But as with C&G online exams, you don't get told what you got wrong.
Which is strange when you consider the risk of the work that this is associated with.

There is a bar graph with the sections on it which shows you the % of each section you got correct.
That is true.

You are told the percentage correct of each of the eight sections.

Some sections have a lot more questions than others.

50% of a two-question section is one wrong.
50% of an eight-question section is four wrong.

The actual percentage (of correct answers) cannot be calculated by the average of the eight percentages.

Well, that is, unless that is how they do it.

The exams weighted;
so
Part 1, 4 question = 8%
Part 2, 2 = 4%
Part 3, 8 = 16%
Part 4, 13 = 20%
Part 5, 15 = 25%
Part 6, 7 = 10%
Part 7, 8 = 12%
Part 8, 3 = 5%

So you could get say 2 question wrong in part 2 and 2 wrong in part 7 say
giving you 2%(P1) and 3%(P7) loss on marks
but giving you 50%(P1) and 75%(P7) on bar chart for each section.

So you could end up with
1=100% or 8%
2=50% or 2%
3=100% or 16%
4=100% or 20%
5=100% or 25%
6=100% or 10%
7=75% or 8%
8=100% or 5%

but you would end up with 95% opposed to 90.6% ( 725/8 )

Right, thanks, should I have known that?

As I said, though, they don't tell you that you got 95%.

It doesn't seem to make any difference. Both ways come to 100.
