What do engineers think of Worcester Bosch boilers. I'm hearing that they aren't as good as they used to be ?
What are thoughts please?

I'm hearing that replacement parts are hard to get and they're not as good as the older boilers
I’ve not heard that before, that said I don’t work on current Worcester boilers. I would stay clear of Intergas - these are often heard to obtain parts for. Engage with your gas safe registered engineer, often accredited installers can get longer warranties for you, providing the boiler is serviced annually.

Really? Never ever had an issue getting parts for them, yes parts can be pricey but I've found their hardware to be very reliable, as long as they're looked after properly. Warranty cover up here is excellent too.

WB used to be good boiler IMO years ago but now they've gone to plastic they seem to have all sorts of issues, would never recommend one.

Have a look at the mid and top range Vokera Synergy and Pinnacle. Now part of Carrier Group which includes Viessmann and Riello sharing technical and service teams. 7 and 10 years, modulation from 1.77kW up to 35kW dependant on model.

Yep, not all parts, but certain parts I’ve waited in excess of a week or two for. Also, flue sample caps aren’t available as a spare, so have to purchase a turret to throw the main part away seems like a waste/CO2 issues.

I’ve had one particular eco rf30 which is on its 3rd flow turbine/sensor and it is only about 2 years old. We’re in social housing, so warranty is only 2 years, but had to change quite a few parts on some and no matter how you look after them, ignition modules seem to fail for fun, not to mention the 4 year service kit and front plate seal replacement every 2 years.

Any 15mm - 1/2" cap with a seal usually works, that being said in all my years can't say I've ever had to order a new cap

Hmmm - must have been bad luck then waiting for weeks, I've never had to wait for a part for them, not that I've had to order a lot of parts anyway, find them to be really reliable, when I have it always been next day delivery but guess it may just be down to who the supplier is.

I'm surprised, I didn't know that IG did developers deals where it's only a 2 yr warranty, every day's a school day I guess

Flow turbines - is it an especially hard water area? I've never had an ignition module fail nor a turbine, must be lucky. Only real issue I've had with them is the gas valve - they don't have a mesh filter so if there's any problem with shale/sulphides then it can contaminate the valve and it throws up ignition errors (5).

@ £15 a new front seal is not exactly a hardship and a boilers HEX should be opened up every service for a clean anyway and every other boiler I've serviced ask for the burner seal to be replaced ever time the HEX is opened. Does it happen? I'm sure it doesn't. As long as the seal is in good condition though and has a smidgen of silicone grease applied then there shouldn't be an issue with it lasting longer, on site judgement call I guess. The red viton seal, of course, should be replaced whenever found.

who the supplier is.
Travis Perkins but via Direct heating spares

Might be because we pay less for them, in the region of £600

No, I don't think so. Same boilers installed on the same street and not replaced theirs.
I've never had an ignition module fail
TBF, we probably have more on patch. I'd say at least 200

Aye, true, but still a pain with the 11 bolt, so in essence 22, compared to usual 4/5
