Ok, how do I get the cover off?? the instructions say remove screw, rotate the cover anti clockwise slightly.

I am not Chuck Norris and the cover doesnt want to move............

Have you loosened the screw at the bottom? The cover takes a bit more force to remove AND don't try it until the "eye" is fully closed.

I had a larger Icon, with the screw removed, it rotated anti-clockwise. I used to need to apply a little bit of forward pressure though. From memory, it took about 15 degrees to remove it. Decent fans but over time, the wax activated piston/spring struggles to open/close the shutters once fluff etc builds up. Almost impossible to clean the fan blades though. I ruined one when I tried to leaver off the internal cowl.

Update, clamping the body of the fan in the vice such that the roughness of the jaws hed it allowed me to get the cover off.

It was a car boot find this morning, completely unused with the humidity/timer /pull cord module in the box for the princely sum of £2 (yes 2)

That is a amazingly cheap, from memory, the humidistat module (mine had the PIR as well), was about £75, ,just for the module.
