Not that type, but the last GV I replaced on a Classic a few weeks ago came with the cork gasket.
On that one there was a small design fault. The gasket face on the boiler side had four small spacing lugs around the outside of the gasket. The effect of that is to limit the pressure that can be applied to the gasket. So if its a bit compressed then it cannot be tightened beyond the thickness of those lugs.
