judging by the shiny grey bark, yours appears to be Ash which if it has been coppiced could have a larger root system than expected...I keep several old chainsaw chains to cut roots but pressure. wash the soil away first which give a clearer site of whats holding on...Hgv straps are handy for yanking em over like Andy’s linked to
I used a Sawzal last time I did anything like that and a pack of cheap blades (soil will blunt them).
