As a result of changes incorporated in the authentication protocol used in Internet Explorer 7, attempting to log in to a SpeedTouch router will fail.
Note: Users of Internet Explorer 6 or other web browsers such as Firefox or Safari are not affected by this problem.
The following solution is available for users running firmware versions 5.3, 5.4 and 6.1. A permanent fix for the issue will be included in a future release.
From the main Microsoft Windows menu select:
START > Run..
type: cmd [enter]
a black window opens in this window type:
telnet 192.168.1.254 [enter]
enter your username and password set for the router
type the following commands at the routers system prompt:
: system config digestauth=disabled [enter]
: saveall [enter]
: exit [enter]
The settings will remain active until the router is rebooted.
