I have a dilemma, misplaced my cordless drill battery charger cant find it anywhere,
even contacted a couple of jobs where I might have left it, no success.

looked on line for cordless drill battery chargers, they are almost the same cost as a new drill,
Looks like I am going to have to make the decision to buy a new cordless drill kit, but I know as soon as I have got it home, the original charger is going to turn up.

I know it is only a few quid, but i bought a new pipe cutter, as I couldn't find the old one.
As soon as I used the new one, i found the old one - in a box of inch eights


And still, no hex keys.......

The trouble is these things always turn up when one is NOT looking for them and after one has purchased the new item !

no i havnt either.

For me its hunting high and low for the glasses on the top of me head... no I haven't done that either.

How about putting on your glasses to realise you already have another pair on..ahem.

I have recently retired and have bought a load of machinery to replace machinery I had bought years ago for when I retired and that has now been worn out.... Right, I have a nice big garage, 9 by 18ft. I am now in the throws of turning it into the wonderful workshop I always promised myself for when I retired... I have built benches and cupboards, I have put up loads of shelving and have totally rewired it out with a new distribution box and masses of sockets (well about 8 or is it maybe 10) Where is the disaster I here you say?

Well? there's that much stuff in there that I am finding it very hard to get the workshop finished to a good enough level so I can actually start producing things. I have a Wood Turning Lathe, a Makita Saw table (which I am making a base for) a Router table, Band Saw, 50ltr Compressor sanding table etc etc etc...... The only thing I haven't got now is the space to work in.... Time to chuck out some of the "Stock" timber, metal, paint, plastic, and all the other stuff that I haven't ever thrown out, as well as all the stuff that OTHER people HAVE thrown out.... Phew! What a disaster.....

I've never done that either... I suppose my best gaffe in that dept, is putting my specs on, forgetting that I was already wearing contacts, and wondering for some considerable time as to my my eyesight seemed so bad!

You really shouldn't allow me near tools some days... honestly!

sometimes you can't see something for looking at it, i looked away, walked around the room, went back and saw it straight away!!

this is completely true. i do the same thing when something is on the tip of my tongue but i cant remember the name. i think about something else for a few minutes and then i come back and i just recall it.

As my dad would say "its always in the last place you look"...

(well it would be.....why would you continue to look anywhere else when you've found it!)

I'm sure tool blindness is a recognised medical condition ..... I certainly suffer from it.

I used to struggle finding tape measures and pencils when I'm working.

I fixed the problem by purchasing 20 pencils and 5 tapes measures and then scattering them liberally around my working area.
