no way! i can wire sockets but that's about it. CU was fitted by my builder's who did my loft extension (they have a leccy but he's not certified in the UK-they're slovakian!). i had another look at the installation and i can see bonding from the service unit to a solid metal pipe (earthing point?) this then runs down the pipe into the floor boards.
so i think i need to bond the gas meter directly to the solid pipe/earthing point and that should do it?

p.s. what about the bonding to water stop cock, shall i do it anyway?

Seeing as your spark doesn't know what the UK regs are maybe you should get someone in who knows what they're doing?
