Got an issue with this immersion heater again. It just stopped working, so I bought a new element but still no luck.
I checked the voltage at the connections of the element and it read 180V ac.
I then traced the immersion cable back 70cm or so to a switch in the same cupboard.
The black and red and the left read 242V ac, but the brown and blue on the right(with the switch on) read 180V ac.
help please?
just as I was about to directly connect mains with heater (bypassing switch as suggested by x4xr4 on plumbing thread) I noticed that where the mains is connected to the switch, ie red and black, the screw terminals read L out, N out. The screw terminals that connect to the heater read L in, N in.
Is this correct?
