Just finished changing the bushes. I want to thank you all for your suggestions. I used plenty of penetrating oil, a burner, and a mashing hammer....and of course a big stick!
My initial thoughts about the compressor (waste of time?) were incorrect. Once i broke the seized bond with the breaker bar, i had it moving but it was slow work (hammering and applying torque at the same time). Until of course I used the imapct wrench - now with upgraded hose 10mm dia and 1.5m length, connected to unregulated supply. It kicked serious arse and probably saved me hours had I continued with the breaker bar.
Feeling confident now....rattling timeing chain beware!
