The UK has confirmed that Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s wife has shares in childcare company Koru Kids, that could profit from government policy changes.
An update to the register of ministerial interests published on Wednesday included details of Sunak’s financial assets.
It noted that his wife, Akshata Murty, “owns a venture capital investment company, Catamaran Ventures UK Limited, and a number of direct shareholdings”.
These include “the minority shareholding that his wife has in relation to the company, Koru Kids”, the report clarified in the footnotes.
Its publication comes days after parliament’s standards watchdog announced it was investigating claims that Sunak had failed to declare that Murty held shares in Koru Kids.
