just use a relay with a timer they are not expensive, low voltage from the PIR will switch the 240V supply on from the relay to the pump, I would be using a different electrician if he cant work that out, @Dan Robinson loves these things , I have tagged him for you he has a lot of experience doing this

Thanks again! Using a different electrician would be tricky and he’s been good so far, we just want to help him acquire a solution! It’s not the wiring the pir to the pump that’s the problem, it’s how we prevent activation of the 2nd pir sensor (we have 2 bathrooms upstairs) from turning off the pump, if it has been turned on beforehand by the 1st pir sensor. This situation could occur if both bathrooms are being used around the same time. Dan did indeed install our heating system, hopefully he can help!

Each pir wired to a time delay relay set to say 15 minutes should overcome this

Or a simple time clock set to an hour in the morning and 3 hours in the evening.

you should have given her the correct advice when you fitted the Cylinder and she wouldnt need to ask an expert
