Inspection cover and flooring

Hi I have a lean too at the side of my house. Has upvc windows and doors and a flat roof. It’s a narrow corridor. We use it almost like a utility room with a tumble dryer and shoe storage. It has an old concrete slab floor with an inspection cover for a drain from our toilet.
I was thinking of changing the inspection cover for a recessed one so I could use resin aggregate and put a new floor in. From what I understand you cannot just swap out the cover you need to change the tray as well?
I’m just trying to make it look a bit nicer in there or should I put down something like rubber matting that could be taken up if access required. Appreciate any help or suggestions

It’s not rocket science to swap a traditional manhole with a recessed one. A bit of possible brickwork but nothing that a is hard for a DIYer. If you want to install resin as a DIY job, you are probably capable of doing the cover.
Or if you’re paying a resin company then they could do it?

The resin would raise the level so ensure that the DPC is ok.
Probably ensure that the resin is non permeable (I don’t know if it is/isn’t.)
If your washing machine or the manhole leaks you don’t want the liquid to permeate to the concrete.

OP,
Best practice is to replace the manhole cover and existing frame with an internal recessed cover and its frame.
There's typically no DPM (membrane) in old slabs or paths.
Will a Resin floor that raises the FFL say 25mm be OK?
After establishing the FFL benchmark, the frames are usually set in a 3:1 mix of sand & cement.

Whilst I consider you to be awfully condescending sometimes.... I respect you for having a very low opinion of Trump. You clearly have a functioning moral compass- I still think you are condescending sometimes.
