I live in a small 2 up 2 down type victorian house with suspended timber floor. The house has adequate air bricks except for the corridor where there's none. It's completely bone dry in the void. My estimate is the nearest air brick is 2.5 meters to the right in the next room (There's a wall in-between).

My original idea was to insulate under the corridor floor as it gets a tad cold sometimes (also partly due to a rather old front door). I am wondering whether this is a good idea given that there's no air brick?

There's no room to install an air brick btw.

Any thoughts?

I have similar situation, thinking to core drill a hole at either end of the corridor (under stair in my case), so the void communicates with the adjacent room which will be ell ventilated with air bricks. If you wanted to go really posh then duct the void to a pair of dedicated air bricks via the adjacent room.

How about simply knocking some bricks out of the walls to the left and right from the hall void into the adjoining rooms?

Say one brick every half meter but from various differing courses over the length of the walls.

Ken.
