Currently doing some work on a house that was converted into four flats. Everything about the conversion was done by a cowboy firm, from electrics to plastering and painting.

What cable is at the switch?

I'd be far more willing to put money on someone having fitted that cladding straight over an existing standard ceiling rose. Classy job!
