Appreciate this is some time ago but definitely applies to today.
I've just got my head around X-Plan and was thinking of doing that albeit with a relay+NC valve instead of shelling out £120 on a 28mm NO.
Then I read this. Right in post 1, the OP says that "The heating functions perfectly - when called the boiler fires up, the zone valve opens and the radiators warm up. ".
So the Nest signals to the MV via its heating terminals and talks Opentherm at the same time ?
That could mean the boiler firing up before the valve has fully opened but maybe that's ok?
