Interior door adjustment in new build: 0-+ hinge settings

Hoping someone knows these doors and can put me right. Just moved into a Taylor Wimpey new-build last year and the doors have hinges that mean you can slide the door off by just removing 1 screw from each of the three hinges. The screw goes through the centre of a plastic square that can be rotated for a 0, + or - setting which I assume adjusts the door alignment but I can't crack the code! Strangely enough I didn't ask for operating instructions for the doors and now two of them have started to rub a little and I'm keen to start with the simple options...
