Interlux downlight - too good to be true?

Interlux downlight claims 620lm for 6w, with a 60degree beam.

Compare this to the industry defacto standard Aurora m10. Which produces 530lm for 10w.

I'm wondering if there is a catch with Interlux, feedback welcome. Although have to admit the trims on the Aurora look nice, the Interlux looks plastic....

Enlite do a retrofit lamp which is 520L at 5w so not impossible. That is super bright, but you're right. The M10s are nice. Fitting 24 of them tomorrow.

Do check out enlite if you want bright though (they're cheap too, and just part of the aurora group)

Called driverless, but what it really means the driver is on the same chip as the LED. Yes they can get 120 lumen per watt although 100 lumen per watt is more normal. Having the driver on the same chip means it is also at the same temperature so easier to compensate for temperature variations. According to write ups some have a 100 Hz flicker same as a magnetic ballast fluorescent tube, others use capacitors to stop the flicker. The fluorescent tube used a CatII fitting with reflectors to stop the flicker pre HF fittings. Even after HF we still get CatII fittings. In the main it was the interaction with CRT tubes in computer monitors that was the problem not sure if the problem still exists with LED computer screens? So may be a little wary in the office as only lighting but in the home as extra to main lights I see no problem using driverless lamps.
