Intermittent light fault?

Thank you so much...
Problem solved (I hope) - had to wait till light stopped working -so a delay (no point checking if it was working!)
It is the bulb ... get 240v to light terminals and 240v to threads even with no light!
(feel really stupid now!)
Bulb was screwed in properly - it was E14 CFL - so I don't have spare to test - and also just managed to drop and break it!...
Oh for the old fashioned bulbs that just blew and that was that...and I really should have known better had similar problem with undercounter kitchen lights from IKEA - this time small halogen bulbs- apparently the wire breaks inside but can keep touching -so they will work if you give them a tap...took months and a replacement light fitting to find that out ...

BTW told a neighbour (bit older than me!) about this - said he'd a similar problem with a downlighter- worked intermittently...when I wondered if it was the same problem - his first words were 'well it works ok sometimes so it can't be the bulb' -then realised what he'd said ...
Us older people have to get our heads around low energy bulbs being more than a bit of wire in a glass ball... :D
