Interview Tuesday.

If the interview is a competancy based type - then google for tips. Try and couple what you know with what the company does and add any annecdotal evidence of occasions when you have completed a similar if not same task.

Remember to breathe and good luck

CJ - just in case we don't meet on here before Tuesday, good luck with the interview.

Just got a call to arrange an interview for a job tuesday.... wohoo..

why am I bricking it? it's not like I'm going on trial or anything, the worst outcome is that I don't get it and nothing changes....
stupid nerves...

Good luck mate

Go smart, doesn't have to be a suit, you'll feel maybe a tad uncomfortable if a little overdressed, but very uncomfortable if (what ever the oppostite of overdressed is, (why isn't it underdressed??) Reactorlites, make sure they are clear when meeting for the initial greeting, hidden eyes a big no no. Firm (not crushing) handshake, clear (not booming) greeting. Do a bit of research on the company usually easy if they have a website. Ask a few decent questions, don't mention pay, or when do I start?

I always arrive a bit early, if need be you can always get a coffee or whatever to kill a bit of time, there is nothing worse than getting flustered thinking you may be late for an interview. Finally of course, best of luck!

If you're offered a drink beforehand, take it. If you think the interview might be a long drawn out affair, take a bottle of water too. Not pop. Water looks more profesional. Sounds daft but true.

My last interview I had a cup of tea made by the interviewer beforehand, and halfway through i wanted another one, my mouth was dry.

Just a quickie. The most important part of any interview is the first impression and the interviewers' have usually already made their minds up within the first 60 seconds.

In my last interview I quickly connected with two of the three firing squad using a 'relevent to the question' safe joke. (More luck than judgement though, I confess. They could have been straight-laced).

Not that you’re there to do comedy of course but it is a kind of stage act and just like any stage act the ‘audience' will either warm to you or not in that golden minute.

Good luck GolJack.

PPS. Interviews are a bit like forums; you can tell if you’re going to be liked after the first few posts.

Goodbye!.........

:D

Good luck Col, hope it goes well for you. Try not to stress too much - take it easy, but remain keen.

If you're online now GET TO BED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alledgedly a first impression takes just 30 seconds.
Point being you don't get a second chance to make that first impression.
Mr Pedantic trying to steal my thunder! :D

Again, good luck and, hopefully, sweet dreams...

Big Tone. (A man of whom someone once said "Who?")
