I know. Im only 34, not as if im really old like 50 odd...

Just didnt realise it would work as a bonding agent, i thought it would block the water out etc....

Maybe ill try it on a small job ive got to do patching, this has some bad cracking and a bit has fallen off.

Let's not get too bogged downon the age issue...... :D

SBR- would prefer if using outside , mixed with OPC dust for better bond as per manuf reccomendation if going straight on to it.

As regards cracking If you leave a bit of SBR Slurry (1:1:1 OPC :SBR: SAND) in the bottom of an old bucket, or pour some onto a bit of plastic so that you have a thin layer when it sets you will be able to actually bend it. This will give you a good idea how it copes with movement and reduces cracking. AFAIK the polymer is used in gaskets and tyres, which gives an idea of its properties.

The 1:1:1 slurry above can be put on, stippled , left 24 hours and then rendered onto as well.
