Was gonna put osb over the top of a watertank but there will be an area which gets water on it a lot is this bitumen flexypol stuff the best stuff to waterproof it and stop it rotting? Once dry is this flexypol stuff ok to touch with your hands or throw tools on like any other paint?

Water tanks require the appropriate close fitting plastic lid to keep dirt and vermin out.

OSB and a tub of slop is not a solution.
It has a lid etc but I want to throw things on top so thought I'd cover it again with wood to give it another shell and cut a circular hole on osb where tanks lid is underneath

No, I’d never recommend varnish, it has it’s place but not here.
How about changing the OSB for a plastic ?

What kind of plastic? Is there anything which will waterproof the osb? Oil based paint etc if not this stuff

No, can you replace the OSB with a sheet of polycarbonate - even the tri wall used for conservatory roofs?
You can treat the OSB with any sort of paint you like - it'll last a while.
John :)
