Is it cowboy to attempt using larger offcuts of plasterboard to complete an area?

Question is how much usage do people make on average out of the offcuts of plasterboard?

Joints would be over the same timbers, scrim taped (50mm) and Toupret joint filler compacted in.

Ideally I'd finish this with full boards, but I've run out of full boards and got lots of decent sized offcuts. To get the couple of boards I'd need it's a real PITA getting them delivered as PB doesn't fit in my car!

Obviously hairline cracking is a concern, although surely that only happens where there is movement?

If this is a ceiling, expect hairline cracks after a year or so in any case.
Open up, fill, sand and repaint and they'll disappear.
