Is it OK to remove floorboards and tile on plywood?

I am re-fitting a bathroom.
At present the floor is boarded with some creaking and rotten boards.
I want to tile the floor with ceramic times.
Am I OK to remove the existing floor boards and replace them with plywood? I note that you can buy 25mm plywood - is this sufficient?

Yes,
The ply wants to be exterior grade and screwd down onto the joists
ps make sure you are aware of the position of any pipework ,you don't want to put any screws through them
