Thought I'd update the thread.
I've almost completed boarding (there's a far bit where a full sized loftboard won't fit so I need to cut some up).
Had a slight issue with what to use as a reference point as nothing in the house is precisely square. I used one of the long joists going from party wall to side of the house as a reference. Kinda wished I'd used a laser guide off the party wall. Had to stagger the boards slightly by a few mm each time. Otherwise am happy with the loftzone kit. Feels much more secure to walk up there.
Also torx head woodscrews were a revelation. No cam out. Managed to drive the screws straight through the boards into the metal cross-beams underneath.
Just need to tidy up the edges to hide the insulation and make a stepping area.
